The Monroe Calculating Machine Company was founded in New York in 1912 by businessman Jay Randolph Monroe. Just two years later, in 1914, the first commercially successful mechanical calculator entered full-scale production in Orange, New Jersey. Monroe’s machines ranged from simple hand-cranked models to motor-driven devices with multiple registers and fully automatic multiplication and division. After World War II, under the Marshall Plan, Monroe expanded into Europe, establishing factories in the Netherlands and Italy. The Monroe CSA-10 Monro-Matic, produced between 1950 and 1966 in the Netherlands, is an electro-mechanical, fully automatic, stepped-drum calculator with a full keyboard. It features automatic multiplication and division, electric carriage transport, and automatic clearing of counters. Registers: 10 x 10 x 20 Dimensions: 35 x 28 x 23/29 cm Weight: 11,4 kg | ||||
