Did you know ...? Aktiebolaget Addo (AB Addo), founded in 1918, was an engineering company based in Malmö, Sweden. The company manufactured various types of office machines. Addo Ab was founded by Swedish dentist Hugo Agrell, who was later joined by his three sons, Gunnar, Göran, and Trygve. While Gunnar and Göran helped their father in Malmö, Trygve Agrell was sent to the United States in 1950 to establish and manage Addo Machine Co., Inc. in New York. The company expanded rapidly, having its factories in Brazil and in the UK, in addition to the six factories in Sweden. Production was exported to 100 countries worldwide. In 1966, Addo AB was incorporated into its competitor Facit AB (AB Åtvidabergs Industrier), where it remained as a subsidiary until the early 1980s. Addo products consisted mainly of adding machines, calculators, accounting machines, and data processing equipment. Source: Source: Büromarkt. Internationale Bürofachzeitschrift, 1956, Nr. 4 | ||||
