Original-Odhner Mod 239
|
The Model 239 is part of Odhner’s 200-series of hand-cranked mechanical calculators, built by AB Original-Odhner in Göteborg, Sweden. It was the most advanced model in the series, equipped with an input control register, extended tens carryover to the counter register, and a back-transfer function (from the result register to the setting register). The Model 239 was manufactured between 1955 and 1968. This example bears a reseller’s tag from O.Y. Porin Systema, an office machine supplier in Pori, Finland. The “-Systema” suffix was widely used by Finnish office supply companies, a tradition dating back to the firm Systema Oy (1890–1931), founded by Carl Robert Mannerheim – the father of Finnish military leader and statesman C.G.E. Mannerheim. The “Systema” name remains common in Finnish office-related businesses even today. Registers: 10 x 8 x 13 Weight 6,2 kg Dimensions: 370 x 175 x 130 mm
